Svenska Spel extends the European bonus - SEK 750,000 to Damallsvenskan's top trio

Three Swedish teams will play next year in the Uefa Women's Champions League - the Swedish champions Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC, the Damallsvenska runners-up FC Rosengård and the three Kristianstads DFF. Now they receive SEK 250,000 each from football's main sponsor Svenska Spel to come as well prepared as possible to the fine rooms of European football next autumn. Thus, Svenska Spel increases the annual European bonus by SEK 250,000.

As of the 2021/2022 season, three teams from the OBOS Damallsvenskan will play in the Uefa Women's Champions League. The Swedish champions Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC are directly qualified for the group stage, which replaces the previous round of 16 finals. The second and third in the OBOS Damallsvenskan, FC Rosengård and Kristianstads DFF, both enter the second qualifying round, the last before the group game.

For football's main sponsor Svenska Spel, the increase in the number of Swedish teams in the European Games means that the total European bonus increases from SEK 500,000 to SEK 750,000.

- Of course, all three clubs must be given the same conditions to succeed in the European Games. Therefore, it is obvious to increase the total bonus, says Nicklas Biverståhl, sponsorship manager at Svenska Spel.

The European bonus is very important for the team's conditions to succeed in the European game.

- Qualifying for the Uefa Women's Champions League is an achievement at the same time as it is developing as the teams get to measure their strengths against the best teams in Europe. But it is also costly. The clubs themselves choose how the bonus will be used, but thanks to the money from Svenska Spel, they will have the opportunity to be well prepared, says Tomas Hoszek, general secretary of Elite Football Women.

- After this season, money is also more important than ever, and as football's best friend, we are happy to be able to contribute to Sweden's three best football teams' preparations for an exciting European adventure, Svenska Spel's Nicklas Biverståhl points out.

The bonus is paid out in connection with next season's Uefa Women's Champions League start, but already in connection with the season's last match yesterday, symbolic checks were handed out to the top three teams.
